David Hopps at Warwickshire 46 for 4 v Durham
Pessimism over Chester-le-Street's ability to retain a long-term presence as a Test debut has not affected the enthusiasm of Durham on the field of play James Weighell has grabbed two wickets in the first 45 minutes, imagining himself the reincarnation of Chris Woakes as he has had Andrew Umeed caught at the wicket and then pinned Ian Bell lbw with a yorker.
Warwickshire's first-innings lead of 123 gives them a lot of security but if they fell for 140 it might be interesting.
My recommendation is that the world ignores the views on this innings of the learned Mr Wigmore on Twitter - he can concentrate on his bore draw at Lord's. The cuteness was the gamble with sending Chris Woakes in as opener to get an innings in before he left the game and headed for Chester-le-Street - there was not really enough time left in the day for the plan to have a good chance of working. Chris Wright's appearance at No 3 was a routine nightwatchman decision really after that gamble went wrong.
So we have Trott, indeed at 6, with some calming to do.
