Sri will be happy to see the Duke taking a five-fer.

Haystack_Jnr - It was here, we made the final and lost to India

Ian Bell was given out on a dodgy stumping in a rain shorten game

i assume it was OZ/NZ as it is the same venue as the world cup... i think. Just checked the fixtures and i assume, again, that only three venues are being used as each 'group' plays all games at the same venue? So it must be three groups based at the Oval, Cardiff and Birmingham (why it is referred to as Birmingham not Edgbaston, i don't know)

Thought that was a really good tournament, although it probably inspired the ICC to come up with the 10 Team WC

That's the 2nd game running where Borthwick has wasted a solid morning in the first over after lunch.

@Nick For some reason I do remember the tournament getting pretty positive press.

Angelo Mathews: bit of a hero.
by StaggerBreaths8/31/2016 12:51:44 PM
any rumours on who the new yorkies coach will be? Anyone on the staff capable of stepping up, or will it be another big name Aussie to come in? Slightly ironic that the County with the best England production record and general reluctance to bring in foreigners has a foreign coach.

That's the only reason we're having another one Stack.

dave - Trott made a ton in a knock out game against the South Africans, Choke Banter. Bairstow carried drinks though the whole thing then England were surprised when his batting looked rusty in the Ashes
by nickcricket8/31/2016 12:52:05 PM
@Haystack, probably because we made the final. If we'd bomb in the group stages like 99, exiting before the team's song was released in the charts, i doubt it would have got as much coverage...
by dave8/31/2016 12:52:44 PM
away from the county scene......anyone surprised in any way shape or form that the BCCI have pooh poohed the idea of a 4 day tests (poss loss of precious earnings for them) and the idea of a 2 tier test system (poss of easy wins for them)

England beat Australia in their opening match and Dave Warner had a nightout in walkabout
by nickcricket8/31/2016 12:52:49 PM
dave - almost as ironic as England's best coaches of the past 20 years being foreigners too!
