you're probably right, Nick. I also have a large axe to grind as a supporter of a small County. Ultimately whatever system is in place will have faults and as you say transparency is nigh on impossible to maintain when dealing with people. Bayliss's honesty *may* have contributed to Compton's failings, but i suppose we'll never know.

bar the Read dismissal, all the wickets looked like really good bowling. I was half expecting poor batting for the wickets, but it looks like Gregory and Coverton might be finding a little bit of form for the business end of the season.
