Also for the record I feel that Steve Finn needs... something. What that is I'm not sure, he'll probably not find it at Test level though.

Shame for McManus to be run out, but what a knock. Hants were 247/7 at one point and McManus was 14*. To reach 423 is a serious effort.

Now thats a # I could get behind ;)

yes, bowling is definitely Allenby's better suite! However, he is under bowled and Maynard does see him as a batsman - opens in the shorter stuff and rarely gets half his quota, bats five in champ and hasn't bowled a lot until recently.

Gloucs. vs. Leics. still not coming through on the old tickers, not much of a problem while Gloucs. CCC is keeping us updated though. #Raineontheparade
by StaggerBreaths7/20/2016 10:46:46 AM
of note, Allenby: Batting AVE > Bowling AVE
by dave7/20/2016 10:46:53 AM
Hm. Cricinfo says it was McManus run out, twitter suggests Wheal. What a mystery.
by Matt Warwick7/20/2016 10:47:25 AM
He's a genuine all-rounder! Why hurry Stokes back into the side when you have Allenby in the wings?
by StaggerBreaths7/20/2016 10:47:48 AM
Tom Smith & Allenby both medium bowlers and have both had outrageous spells in the last 2 days
by Steadman197/20/2016 10:48:28 AM
It's just like the good old days of County Cricket and Jesse Ryder taking a five-for in every other match.
exactly and he can field in the slips :p I think the reason he isn't bowled is because on the majority of pitches he is is essentially a playing as a fourth change bowler behind the Overtons/Gregory/Groeners which really means he is a bit of a luxury. However when the ball swings around he can be very effective. I think the medium pacer demolition job is a uniquely English affair and is not one they are going to be able to stop with rule changes

Durham stuck around after their win at Southport for beers, chat, sunshine and impromptu games of cricket with local children - another photo

fair point, Mark. However, when our batting is a little light, why not play another bat at five and bump everyone else down one. Although he has done well this season i also feel Trego by and large is a place too high as well. O, well, it is all working at the moment so i shant complain!

Smith and Adams open, as Hampshire follow on. Meaker bowls for @surreycricket , who lead by 214 runs
