@NemoUKS I and not a huge fan of 3 divisions. Firstly if each team play each other twice that would mean only 5 home games (40 days Championship cricket and only 5 at the weekend). This would average out as 1 per month. Given the usual problems with the weather. It would give me very little chance to go and see some games.

Also a proper keeper if we play 3 spinners?

Hard to compare this season, Rashid not played very much First Class Cricket what he has played was in the early part of the season where you wouldn't expect much from him. In this match Yorkshire have failed to put any runs on the board its hard to spinners to have an impact without that. In 2014 he was a vital part of the attack in forcing wins in the final innings for Yorkshire and he stats around that time are very good, but he are still asking the same questions then as now and he won't get answers until be plays a few more tests

Leach, Batty, and as an outside option Rayner the 'true spinners' in the reckoning. Ansari, Moe, Samit, and for some godforsaken reason Dawson the batsmen who can bowl spin. Rashid somewhere in the middle.

@John With a general reduction of cricket you'd hope they'd be able to schedule it better! 12 games (three divisions of 7) would be nice but might require Scotland/Ireland to enter sides

Could always have 6 and then have a play off game, So first plays second, third plays forth
by nickcricket9/14/2016 10:56:49 AM
surprised Rayner doesn't get more of a mention

I think they should be taking Mo, Rash, Leach and maybe even Batty too. At least one if not two of those are really all rounders so it's not taking 4 proper spinners. I think the 'proper keeper' call is why you see lots of people asking for Foakes to tour right?
by Samora RL9/14/2016 10:58:25 AM
They don't think he spins it much Doug.

Just having a nosey at some averages, only his 10th game but Toby Lester's batting average of 1.66 and bowling average of 91.22 is quite something!

That's remarkably close to my Saturday performances last year!

With the lack of certainty in the batting I don't think they can afford a specialist keeper From Tim Wigmore's piece "as Foakes is a taker of great catches rather than a great keeper. But the occasional lapses are no surprise considering that he took to keeping full-time aged 16 and only now, at 23"

There is a loud news bulletin in the background of the Yorkshire radio commentary

I think the calls for Rash to tour are premature, I'm not sure Man United will release him for a start.
