George Dobell at Nottinghamshire (241) v Middlesex (51-4)
Apologies if you have already read this. Having some tech issues. Hello from Trent Bridge where Dawid Malan was given out leg before to Brett Hutton. Malan was not overwhelmed with the decision: he put both hands on his head before trudging back to the pavilion. Replays – and the replay we have here is not from behind the arm – suggest he may have been a bit unfortunate. Ollie Rayner’s leg before last night was a bit of a surprise, too. Anyway, it all means that Middlesex are still more than 200 behind with four wickets down. Gubbins remains, though, and has timed the ball nicely. He has an unusual force off the hips through mid-wicket that renders a good length ball a scoring opportunity and will bring him many, runs runs. He has clearly played quite a lot of his cricket on flat, slow tracks at Lord’s, so this will be a good test for him. Jake Ball looks fine, by the way, after his minor injury scare last night. Eskinazi has just sliced Hutton a couple of inches short of Lumb at gully.
